You’ve heard the uproar and everything about them complaining that Science & Maths should be taught in BM. Well, now they’ve gone and done it. I’m glad I got out fast enough =) I don’t have to suffer from the effects of it. Major effect no.1 : horrid English. I can’t even imagine what it would be like to report on experiments in BM, which all the people who finished form 5 a year before me did. I’m glad to have studied mine in English because it’s really convenient when you don’t have to look up the words you don’t understand and start writing reports in English but thinking out the words in Malay because that’s the language you first learnt that stuff in.
There was an article published in The Star Newspaper dated August 9, 2009 titled
Click on it and take a look at how stupid these people can get. Yes, it was held OUTSIDE SMK Sri Hartamas instead of a having a proper meeting INSIDE the school because the school had suddenly withdrawn their permission to hold it in the school. Oh well, as if that is gonna do anything good.
What do you think about learning IT in Malay? (I got this from an email from my dad .. It’s rather crude so please make sure that no one you do not want reading this is not looking at the screen when u read it =p)
Now we are going to teach Science in BM
The whole world uses the language as an information and/or technology language. How dangerous it will be if we try to use Bahasa, especially in school. See example below:-
Hardware = barangkeras
Software = baranglembut
Joystick = batang gembira
Plug and Play = cucuk dan main
Port = lubang
Server = pelayan
Client = pelanggan
Try to translate this:
That server gives a plug and play service to the client using either hardware or software joystick. The joystick goes into the port of the client.
Now in BAHASA:
Pelayan itu memberi pelanggannya layanan cucuk dan main dengan menggunakan batang gembira jenis keras atau lembut. Batang gembira itu akan dimasukkan ke dalam lubang pelanggan..
Now you know the problem.. coming in 2012.
